Resurrection Over Tradition: A Call to Return to the Truth
Happy Resurrection Month.
This season brings reflection, and once again, I feel led to revisit something I shared last year—the use of the word “Easter” and what it represents.
Renewing the mind is not always easy. It requires us to confront long-standing traditions—things we’ve practiced for years without question.
For much of my life, I celebrated Easter. I celebrated with family, with children, and within the church. We hid eggs, searched for them, and enjoyed chocolate bunnies. Yet, I never truly stopped to ask:
What do eggs and bunnies have to do with Jesus Christ?
If I am honest, I must ask myself—did I really want to know? Or was I comfortable in tradition?
But one truth remains clear:
When you know better, you must do better—especially in the things of God.
💔 A Heart Awakening
Recently, someone close to me said, “Easter Sunday,” and my response was immediate:
“We are celebrating Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection!”
Because the truth is undeniable:
- Jesus died for us
- Jesus rose for us
No other name, no other symbol, no other tradition holds that power.
When they responded, “But all the churches say Easter,” my heart broke—not in anger, but in sorrow.
It made me reflect deeply:
- Are we mixing what is holy with what is not?
- Have we become too comfortable with tradition over truth?
- Could this be affecting the spiritual strength of the body of Christ?
🔥 A Call to Repentance and Renewal
This message is not meant to condemn—it is meant to awaken.
I begin with myself:
Lord, forgive me. Have mercy on me. Cleanse my heart.
And I encourage you:
- Repent sincerely
- Ask for forgiveness
- Forgive others
- Turn away from sin
- Stop endorsing what God has called us out of
Many say they love the Lord, yet struggle to spend time with Him. Others find it difficult to celebrate Him without incorporating worldly customs.
But God is calling us higher.
✝️ The Finished Work of Christ
Despite our shortcomings, God’s love remains steadfast.
He gave His only Son for us.
Jesus completed everything:
- In the Garden of Gethsemane
📖 Matthew 26:36-39 KJV
- On the cross
📖 John 19: 30 KJV
- Through death and the grave
📖 Matthew 27:50-60 KJV
- In His resurrection power
📖 Matthew 28:5-6 KJV
Because of Him, we have:
- Salvation
- Healing
- Deliverance
- Restoration
🌟 Closing Reflection
This Resurrection season, let us go beyond tradition.
Let us return to the truth.
Let us walk in obedience.
Let us honor God fully.
We must do better—
for the Father,
for the Son,
and for the Holy Spirit.
Until next time,
Just Have Faith and Keep It Moving!
